When a guy is not arguing, it may be because he knows he can't win the argument. Afterall, girls are generally more articulate than guys :) By keeping quiet, his mind may have drifted somewhere else, he may not necessarily be listening to what the girl is saying. That's why they say, "Men don't listen and women can't read maps."

It's an unfair stereotype of course. Not all women have poor sense of direction. Some have very sharp direction sense. For example: My wife ;p
