A friend of ours passed away on the spot at 2.50am due to motor accident.
Only age 22yrs old.
In memorance of him, 24.03.2008.

Heart doesn't feel good. It seem not real. Just like a dream.
But the fact is, he was really gone.
My mum didn't sleep the whole nite upon hearing the news at 4am plus..
He was someone we seen him grown up, just like a brother.

Saw his funeral juz now, but din go over as I cannot attend.
Friends feel sad about his sudden leaving.
The hardest person to accept I guess, is his mum.

Poor Yang mother..
I can't help anything..

Only alot of thinking about life and death..

Thoughts to be remember

Just come across my mind til I met this person..
I've decided to write down my thoughts in case I forgot years later..

I've met this person who is no manner, which make me feel dat I ought to teach my kid (If I manage to have one) the correct manner and the way to behave..

I will teach my kid to greet properly. Not greeting elder is a very rude action. In my past, if I never greet anyone, I'm sorry. It was a big mistake as it is very rude to do so.. I've learnt my mistake and I dunwan my kid to repeat the same.

Of course, I will teach my kid not to bully anyone. If she/he did, I will definitely punish her/him.. It is a very wrong act for a kid to do so as well. But if my kid is being bullied, I will teach my kid to tell me who bully him instead of she/he trying her/his mean to revenge. Of course, I will teach my kid the proper channel to handle this kind of tyrant.

Most imporantly, I will definitely not allow my girl to stay at her bf's house when she turn teenage. If they really want to spend time together, come to my house instead.Same apply to my boy, NO GIRL ALLOW TO BRING HOME FOR STAY. He can go over to her house if her parents allow him to do so..
Why?
Cause I know the feeling of being called a slut for staying over at bf's house. I dun feel good, especially it was the bf's mum who said so.. My mum did scolded me when I was young for staying at bf's house, I ignored her advise and I regretted it when I grow old..
Well, to avoid all the above nonsense, NO STAYING AT BF'S HOUSE OVERNIGHT!
Now when I tot back, it is really not very good for staying at bf's house, cause girl never know how his family think of her..and den it leave a bad impression..

Actually, no one is born perfect.

I'm an easy forgive and forget person, but I dun like others to frame me, accusing me. I can easily forgive a person when she/he apologize.

But nowadays, I get paranoid easily.. I keep think of people is trying to talk bad about me, trying to frame me, dislike me... Den I will do things to let them know I know wat they are talking about me and I dislike them too... And the actually fact is, it might be nothing to do with them at all.. IT IS MYSELF GETTING PARANOID! Thinking of people hating me!

I asked doctor, he said my illness would caused such imagination. Am I going mad?
I guess I'm going to be crazy soon...

This is the 3rd person who let me go crazy by her behaviour, and I clearly know she might not be talking bad about me...But another part of me keep telling me she is spouting nonsense about me right now.. what should I do.... I take my medicine as usual, but my illness seem not recovering...

Should I see the doctor again? I dun like to be like this.. I dunwan to treat anyone badly and hate myself after the incident.. but I really cannot control my emotional..

Public not told of detainee's escape earlier to avoid causing panic: Police

POLICE on Sunday said the public were alerted to terrorist leader Mas Selamat Kastari's escape from Whitley Road Detention Centre only four hours later because they did not want to cause 'public panic'.

Their first priority was to secure the checkpoints and the possible areas that the Singapore leader of the Jemaah Islamiah terror network might have fled to, Police Assistant Commissioner Wong Hong Kuan told the media at the Special Operations Command at Queensway Base.

While the border controls were being set up, the next focus was on moving resources to the scene of the escape to cordon off the area and carry out a systematic search, which is still on-going.

'Our focus in the first few hours is to ensure that all these were done,' said AC Wong.
'It was a decision taken that we need to be sure of the parameters and what is actually happening before we give out information to the public.'

"If we just give out information that he is out there, it may cause public panic.
'The issue is more about what sort of credible infomation you can give to the public so they can help police in our search effort in a very short span of time.'

Police said Mas Selamat, detained under the Interal Security Act since 2006, broke out of the detention centre at 4.05 pm last Wednesday. The media received a brief statement on his escape at past 8 pm.

About an hour after the daring escape, the manager of a petrol kiosk on Whitley Road said he saw a man resembling Mas Selamat limping up a flight of steps on a hill slope near Malcom Park, leading to the Bukit Brown Chinese cemetery.
This lead prompted the police and security forces to set up a huge cordon around the area and an intensive search. The fruitless hunt was called off after two days and moved to other areas.
'At that point, we had credible info that he was in the Malcom Road area and the priority then was to conduct the search,' said AC Wong.

'As the search was going on, the press release was being prepared to inform the public what else they should look out for and how they can assist police in the search.'
He acknowledged that the 'window of opportunity was not huge by any measure' as there was a 'very short time lag' for the police to swing into action after the detainee bolted.

AC Wong said if a fugitive is determined not to be caught, he could go into hiding for weeks.
There will be no let up in the search for the escaped detainee, he said.

Early Birthday Pressie

Today I recieved an early birthday pressie from hubby!!
And dat is a PSP!! A gift I love it so much!~
Of coz, I've to thank hubby for buying me a PSP of white color which I like + a pink pouch!! =D

Actually I didn't expect he will bought me one.. coz he did mentioned I'm a grown up already still want to play PSP which mean he find me childish playing it.. (Used to borrow from cousin/bro)

Who knows, he surprised me with one.. no wonder he asked me what color I like..

When he asked me which color I prefer, I was thinking I want a pink one coz my bro has a black one, his gf a purple one, my small cousin a white one, another cousin a blue one... but in the end I still prefer the white one, so I told him,"if me, I will buy a white one..."

And I'm so touched he remembered what I said.. heez.. dat's why I said.. I love my hubby so much...

I still remember he was always the first one to give me pressie for my birthday..

It is very hard for two different person to grow up differently to live together as a family..

It is even harder to get your other half to know what you are thinking about... They will never know how you feel, what you are sad with, worry about, unless you tell them..

It is the hardest to love someone just base on believing love, as love itself is not strong enough to maintain a relationship.. there are too many unknown factors ahead the road that we could not see...

And den, my thought on 17.02.2008..

It is not very wise for me to think so much while the thing is not as I think..

I should not presume what I think he is and then he is so.. bcoz I'm not him..

I know, he do care about me.

Yes, I still love him as much, increase day by day now...

The Chinese New Year Season lasts for an entire month...
If you live in an area that has a Chinatown, chances are that at some point you've watched the Chinese New Year celebrations.

However, Chinese New Year (also called the Spring Festival) doesn't begin and end on a single weekend. Instead, it runs from the middle of the last month of the previous year (based on the Chinese calendar) to the middle of the first month of the new year.

By the time the New Year arrives, families have already spent several days preparing for the big event; cleaning the house, buying gifts, and cooking festive foods.

People often wonder why the date for Chinese New Year changes each year. The Chinese calendar is a combination solar/lunar calendar, based on a number of rather complex astronomical calculations, including the longitude of the sun.

Chinese New Year falls on the second new moon after the winter solstice (all months begin with a new moon). In 2008 (year 4706 on the Chinese calendar) Chinese New Years falls on February 7th.

How did Chinese New Year come to be celebrated? According to an ancient legend, people were once tormented by a beast called a Nian - a ferocious creature with an extremely large mouth, capable of swallowing several people in a single bite.

Relief from the Nian came only when an old man tricked the beast into disappearing. In reality, New Years festivities probably evolved from a desire to celebrate the end of winter and the fertility and rebirth that come with the spring, much like the ancient Roman festival of Lupercalia.

Today, New Years is about family reunions and wishing everyone good fortune in the coming year. The Spring Festival is China's major traditional holiday, and is also celebrated in other parts of Southeast Asia, including Vietnam (where New Year's Day is called "Tet"), Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and of course, Hong Kong.

However, in my research I couldn't find any mention of Chinese New Year's celebrations in Japan. Lisa Heupel, an expert on Japanese Culture, came up with a possible reason - apparently the Japanese followed the lunar calendar until the middle of the nineteenth century.

However, after the Meiji Restoration in 1868, they adopted the Gregorian calendar. Since that time New Years is celebrated on January 1st. While there are other popular festivals celebrating the arrival of spring, such as Hanami or the cherry blossom viewing festival, for the most part Chinese New Year goes unnoticed in Japan, except for a few small celebrations by the Chinese who live there.

Given the importance of food in Chinese culture, it is not surprising that food plays a major role in Chinese New Year celebrations. "Lucky" foods are served through the two week Chinese New Year celebration, also called the Spring festival.

What gives a certain food symbolic significance?

Sometimes it is based on appearance. For example, serving a whole chicken during the Chinese New Year season symbolizes family togetherness.

Noodles represent a long life; an old superstition says that it's bad luck to cut them. Both clams and Spring Rolls symbolize wealth; clams because of their resemblance to bouillon, and Spring Rolls because their shape is similar to gold bars.

On the other hand, a food may have special significance during Chinese New Year because of the way the Chinese word for it sounds.

For example, the Cantonese word for lettuce sounds like rising fortune, so it is very common to serve a lettuce wrap filled with other lucky food.

Tangerines and oranges are passed out freely during Chinese New Year as the words for tangerine and orange sound like luck and wealth, respectively. And let's not forget pomelos. This large ancestor of the grapefruit signifies abundance, as the Chinese word for pomelo sounds like the word for "to have."

Fish also play a large role in festive celebrations. The word for fish, "Yu," sounds like the words both for wish and abundance.

As a result, on New Year's Eve it is customary to serve a fish at the end of the evening meal, symbolizing a wish for abundance in the coming year.

For added symbolism, the fish is served whole, with head and tail attached, symbolizing a good beginning and ending for the coming year.

And what about the sweet, steamed cakes that are so popular during the Chinese New Year season? Cakes such as Sticky Rice Cake have symbolic significance on many levels. Their sweetness symbolizes a rich, sweet life, while the layers symbolize rising abundance for the coming year.

Finally, the round shape signifies family reunion. So if you missed the fireworks and celebrations on New Year's Eve, don't worry - you'll have another chance to celebrate.
